Grassland Set-Aside Program

Deadline for planting: June 15th

Fields are planted with grasses and broadleaf plants, and left to rest for up to 4 years to restore the soil and provide wildlife habitat.

Apply before starting your project.  

Blueberry Rest Program

Deadline for planting: June 30th

Where blueberry crops have been removed, cover crops or full-season cover are planted to improve soil health and reduce erosion. 

Apply before starting your project.  

Field Margin Program

Deadline for planting: June 30th

Strips of tall grass and native wildflowers are planted on the edges of farm fields to provide wildlife habitat, improve pollination and pest control. 

Apply before starting your project.  

Forage Enhancement Program

Deadline for seeding: June 15th

Forage fields damaged by migratory waterfowl are reseeded. 

Available in Delta and Richmond only.  

Hedgerow Program

Native trees, shrubs, and grasses are planted on the edges of fields to provide habitat for birds and pollinators and reduce wind erosion.

Soil Amendment Program

Soil amendments are applied to the field to improve soil quality.
